Flowers for your Thoughts

Hello, they say the mind is the most romantic part of the body so we thought we would give you all a chance to exercise yours for Valentines.

The Mr Darcy
Simply compose a small poem or ditty and post it in the comments field of the blog. It must be original and it would help if it's funny or romantic or, ideally both!
The George Clooney
On the 9th of February we will judge which poem we deem to be the best and the winner will receive a £30 bouquet of flowers for themselves or a lucky someone else.

Get thinking/writing and best of luck to you!

Fame at Last!!

It's always nice to have lots of people appreciating your work and thats exactly what happened to us last week. One of the brides we provided flowers for last year, Amy, was featured in the Love My Dress blog. We only found out when we got a wedding inquiry on the back of it, less than 12 hours after it had been posted!!

As well as lovely flowers the blog also contains some great pictures of her and Chris's day so feel free to check it out.

(Un)Happy New Year?

Apparently it's the most miserable day of the year today....I'm not so sure.

I feel pretty good myself, the shop has been busy, most of our orders have been for happy occasions, most people I've met are good and the dog seems pretty chuffed too.

Maybe it's being surrounded by spring flowers thats the key. So if you are feeling a bit mopey then get out and buy yourself some tulips, gerbera and hyacinths!! And not just today either :)

Snow Joke in the Flower Trade

It's only November and already the snow is knee deep around some of the country! Snow, like Christmas shopping, should be left until December in our humble opinion.

our dog, Olive, wondering what all the fuss was about
As pretty as it looks it can cause us a few problems with our national delivery service. Last year we had lots of fun and games trying to get flowers to people who were pretty much snowed in up in Northern Scotland. One lady actually had the local farmer take his tractor out to meet the courier as the roads could not be travelled with normal vehicles.

This years Christmas window will be going in next week, incorporating seasonal style and a competition for the local kids. We'll post a picture as soon as it's finished.

We are also creating a few Winter installations for some of the bars around Edinburgh next week and are looking forward to working outside in the snow :(

There are now only 4 days left before we draw the winner of our Bloggers Bouquet competition. Start thinking about who you might be sending the flowers to if you should happen to win. Of course there is no reason that you shouldn't just keep them for yourselves!

We'll be back next week to announce the winner and show of our window display.

A Florists Ode to Christmas

Just 6 short weeks to Christmas
The Flowers are turning red
The weathers getting frosty
And we want to stay in bed
But the order box is filling up
And the wreaths wont make themselves
So we'll turn the heaters up full blast
And work like Santas elves!

COMPETITION!!!

To celebrate our current and unintended lack of Blogging we'd like to offer our loyal followers the chance to win a gorgeous bouquet of flowers. You can keep it for yourself or you can send it to family or friends. The only stipulation is that it needs to be dispatched to a UK address.

At the end of November we will put all our bloggers names into a hat and draw a winner. That person will then win a £30 bouquet of their choosing.

If you recommend a friend to our blog then don't worry about diluting your chance to win. Let us know about them and we'll give you an extra entry for every extra follower.

Good Luck!
